Anna Wintour, Carrie Bradshaw named Presidential appointees.

Our country's administration just got a little more fashionable (and no, I'm not talking about Michelle Obama).

At a press event at the White House on Monday evening, Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour was appointed to the President’s Committee on the Arts and Humanities. Wintour will join 24 other recognizable names in entertainment and the arts on the board, including fellow fashion icon, Sarah Jessica Parker. The President’s Committee will advise President Obama on how to expand the role of the arts in society.

Wintour was a likely appointment, citing the Obamas as "friends", and working closely with them since the campaign trail: Wintour cohosted a fund-raiser to honor Michelle Obama during her husband’s presidential campaign, and featured the First Lady on the cover of Vogue in March of this year.

Others named to the committee include Teresa Heinz Kerry, wife of Sen. John Kerry; Bryan Lourd, managing director and co-chairman of Creative Artists Agency; actors Forrest Whitaker and Edward Norton, and musician Yo-Yo Ma.
